Planning of the terminal building
The planning of the terminal building continued during the processing of the complaint, and architectural and special planning have mainly proceeded on schedule. The entry into force of the town plan enables the following:
- Building permit application for the terminal building can be filed in early 2024, and the passenger corridors also require a separate building permit.
- Planning of the terminal will be mainly completed in January 2024.
- Electric cable transfers under the terminal will be carried out during summer 2024.
The principal and architectural planning of the terminal building is handled by PES-Architects Ltd.
Planning of quays
The planning of different quay options was also in progress during the processing of the complaint. The entry into force of the town plan enables the proceeding of the planning:
- More detailed planning of quay S1 is in progress; planning will be completed in early 2024.
- After the completion of the planning of quay S1, the planning of the final quay S2 will commence.
The structural planning of the quays will be implemented by Profund Oy.
Planning of field areas
As the town plan gained legal force, the planning of outdoor and field areas was initiated.
The contract on the planning of outdoor and field areas was signed in September. The planning will be implemented by Sitowise Oy. The requirements and hopes of shipping companies and the authorities for the field area will be taken into account in the planning.
The first drafts for the traffic plans will be provided before the end of 2023, and at the same time the planning of levelling and drying of the field area is in progress.
