Get to know our staff – Communications Assistant Aija Kallio
Communications Assistant Aija Kallio works in the Port’s marketing team, where she started in 2009. Aija, who has completed the vocational qualification in graphic design, is responsible inter alia for various graphic projects, such as invitations and fair stands. Together with Harbour Master Antti Pekanheimo she even prepares maps for vessel locations for different events, including the Tall Ships’ Races. Aija’s job profile is also strongly related to digital communication, such as the active maintenance of websites and social media channels.
” Variety is absolutely the best at work, there is so much you can and can do. On the same day, job assignments may include planning a fair stand, updating social media and practical arrangements for a customer event. A good thing in working in Port is cooperation with customers; For example, when we represent Port of Turku at the fair, we always have customers with us. It’s great to get to discuss with them the marketing we do. I also enjoy regular days at the computer. It’s like a promise of an adventure when you enter this room in the morning.
