Port of Turku’s environmental report 2020 has been published

The Port of Turku’s goal is to minimize the environmental impacts of port operations. We want to decrease the carbon footprint of our operations, reduce the impacts on the water system and maritime environment, as well as limit the noise caused by port operations.

An exceptional year is behind us – Year of the Port of Turku 2020

Year 2020 will go down in history as a very exceptional period of time. The positive outlook early in the year quickly turned uncertain as a result of the global news about the pandemic, and in March the coronavirus epidemic also arrived in Finland.

The port goes electric – environmentally friendly electric cars for use at work

The first electric cars arrived at the port in mid-February. All passenger cars of the Port will be converted to electric ones by the end of 2022, with vans to follow as more options become available.

Port of Turku to sell its crane business to Turku Stevedoring

Port of Turku Ltd will sell its crane business as a sale of business operations to Turku Stevedoring Oy (TurkuSteve). The business operations, cranes and crane employees will be transferred to the new owner on 1 March 2021.

Intensified security control in the Port of Turku

An intensive security control campaign was carried out in our port area on Friday 27.11. The goal of the intensive control morning is to ensure safe passage for everyone in the port area.
