The project management contract for the implementation of the yard area has been initiated
The aim of the procurement was to select a project management contractor who would be responsible for managing the building of the yard area and for the acquisition and implementation of structures, networks and other technical systems at the port. Oteran Oy was selected from the bids submitted to the competition.
The project management contract covers the renovation of the port’s existing yard area. The main stages of the construction work include earthworks, water supply, electrical and lighting work, small buildings and cantilever roofs, as well as other equipment in the yard area.
The work in the yard area will be carried out by section and in stages:
- STAGE 1 – WESTERN SECTION
Stage 1 construction work would be carried out tentatively during 2025. - STAGE 2 – NORTHERN SECTION
Construction work for stage 2 will be carried out preliminarily during 2026. - STAGE 3 – EASTERN/SOUTHERN SECTION
Construction work for stage 3 will be carried out preliminarily during 2027.
The sectional borders and timetables for the stages are still preliminary and will be agreed separately with the project management contractor.
The area of the built yard will total approximately 11 hectares and is situated in the port area (ISPS area). The planning of the yard area has been carried out by Sitowise Oy.
