Linnanaukko gate zone closes from 3 August, access to the port area will be rerouted via the West Harbour gate zone
Access to the Port of Turku area will change from 3 August 2026 due to construction works related to the Ferry Terminal Turku project. Access via the Linnanaukko gate zone will cease, and all traffic to the port area will be routed through the West Harbour gate zone.
The change applies to freight traffic heading to the closed port area; the routes for passenger and freight traffic heading to the passenger port will remain unchanged.
The City of Turku is continuing the implementation of traffic arrangements related to the Ferry Terminal Turku project by constructing the new Vientikatu street near the Linnanaukko gate zone.
In August, paving, stonework, landscaping and other finishing works will begin in the area. The objective is to complete the project before the winter season.
As the construction work progresses, access to the port area via the Linnanaukko gate zone will end on 3 August 2026. After this date, all access to the port area will take place through the West Harbour gate zone.
Port of Turku kindly asks all operators in the area to inform their customers and partners of the change to help ensure a smooth transition to the new routes.
