The Port of Turku Ltd has appointed Minna Pirkkanen, M.Sc., as Managing Director
Minna Pirkkanen is an internationally experienced change leader and business developer with a strong track record in driving business growth and profitability. She has held several positions at, among others, KONE and Sandvik, where she has been responsible for large-scale technology, service and business transformations in an international operating environment.
Pirkkanen has advanced in her career from research and product development roles through lifecycle services to strategic business leadership positions. She has built customer-oriented teams that have accelerated the commercialisation of modular, sustainable and digital solutions. In addition to Finland, Minna Pirkkanen has worked in responsible roles in California and the Netherlands.
Minna Pirkkanen holds a Master of Science in Environmental and Energy Technology from the Tampere University of Technology. She also has an international postgraduate qualification in mining and civil engineering from Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria), a Certificate of Business Competence from the Turku School of Economics, and an Executive Management Diploma from the Stockholm School of Economics.
Minna will begin as Managing Director of the Port of Turku on 25 May, succeeding Erik Söderholm, who is retiring at the end of August.
