News in the Ferry Terminal Turku project – May 2026
Terminal construction site
On the first floor of the three-storey terminal, suspended ceiling works, flooring and tiling in public areas, as well as the installation of lifts and building services systems are currently in progress. On the second floor, the focus is on suspended ceiling works, installation of the HVAC plant room, tiling and building services works, as well as levelling and painting. On the third floor, partition walls are being built, concrete surface floors are being completed, and railings are being installed.
Work is also progressing outside the terminal: façade works are underway and yard earthworks are advancing as planned.
The terminal is scheduled to be commissioned in March 2027.
S1 pier construction site
Work on the S1 pier has progressed well, and the aim is to complete the pier by mid-June. In the coming weeks, the focus on site will be on, among other things, asphalt works, electrical, water and pressurised sewer work, installation of equipment, as well as finalisation and site cleaning.
In addition, installation works for a substation have been carried out in the area, and upon completion, this will enable the power supply to the pier.
Work related to the installation of passenger gangways and passenger boarding bridges will begin on site during May. Installation of the gangways will start in June. The passenger gangway elements are prefabricated in a workshop and transported to the site as special transport.
Field construction site
Construction works on the field area have now been ongoing for approximately nine months, and progress is proceeding as planned across several workstreams. The Works are carried out in phases, and the field area will be completed in its entirety by the end of 2027.
