Phase 1 of the FTT yard area construction begins in September
The redevelopment of the yard area for the Ferry Terminal Turku project is progressing as the first phase of construction work begins in September. The project management contractor is Oteran Oy, and the work will start in the western part of the yard area. Phase 1 is expected to continue until April 2026.
The continuity of the port’s operational activities will be ensured by keeping necessary access routes open during construction.
The contract covers the renewal of the port’s existing yard area and includes earthworks, construction of water supply and electrical systems, renewal of lighting, implementation of small buildings and shelters, as well as other yard area infrastructure.
The yard area will be constructed in phases as follows:
- Phase 1 – Western section: Construction work in 2025–2026
- Phase 2 – Northern section: Construction work preliminarily in 2026
- Phase 3 – Eastern/southern section: Construction work preliminarily in 2027
The yard area to be built is located within the port’s ISPS area and covers approximately 11 hectares.
