South Enabler by WALLENIUS SOL strengthens liner traffic at the Port of Turku

NEWS_Mann Lines Logistics’ South Enabler began operating

South Enabler began operations in June 2025 as part of the combined fleet of Mann Lines and WALLENIUS SOL. The vessel replaced M/L Freyja, which previously operated on the route, supporting WALLENIUS SOL’s strategy to develop environmentally friendly and efficient sea freight transport in Northern Europe. The 203-meter vessel was built at the Cantiere Navale Visentini shipyard and is the second newbuild in WALLENIUS SOL’s fleet.

Before entering service, the vessel underwent extensive outfitting, including modern cargo handling equipment, methanol-ready main engines, and ice class certification enabling year-round operations in the Baltic Sea. The ship is specifically designed for heavy and uniquely shaped cargo regularly transported between Northern European ports. This allows for the transport of larger and more diverse cargoes and strengthens WALLENIUS SOL’s position as a specialist in conventional and RoRo traffic in the Baltic region. South Enabler has a cargo capacity of approximately 3,000 lane meters and features two car decks accommodating a total of 200 vehicles.

South Enabler operates as part of the Port of Turku’s liner traffic and serves the route: Tilbury – Cuxhaven – Turku – Paldiski – Bremerhaven – Tilbury.
