Sheltered by the island of Ruissalo, the whole West Harbour comprises a terminal area surrounded by a fence. All container traffic and some of the ro-ro traffic is concentrated there. Extensive warehouse space makes it possible to unitise and store cargoes. The container depot and an IMDG storage are also located in the area. The technical standard of West Harbour has been further improved over the recent years. One vessel can be served by two container cranes at the same time.
