The Port of Turku succeeds and develops through the work of skilled people. The Port ensures the up-to-date expertise of its personnel through versatile training and development activities. In addition to training targeted at firm professional expertise, the personnel development is characterised by service expertise and command of safety issues related to working in the port. Special attention is paid to the familiarisation of new employees.

In order to secure sufficient personnel resources the Port of Turku runs an active personnel policy. The goals are to motivate the current staff and commit them to common objectives and values, as well as supporting recruitment by creating a positive workplace image.

In addition to its own organisation, the Port of Turku participates in the training and familiarisation of personnel of other actors in the port; for example, in safety training. Together with the whole industry the Port will ensure the sufficient number of professionals in the field by influencing the decision-makers to enhance the training in the logistics field.
