Customer-oriented co-operation for the development of services

The Port of Turku is being developed in long-term co-operation with customers and partners. In addition to facilities and areas, the Port invests in logistical added value services.

The development of the service concept offered by the Port is based on partnership-type co-operation with different actors. In addition to practical co-operation, partnership projects involve the utilisation of different financing and other solutions in order to forward development measures. The most important project implemented using this method is the large modern distribution warehouse built in the Ovako area together with Schenker Cargo Oy.

A customer perspective to the development of services is also provided by different market surveys. In addition to its own customer satisfaction surveys, the Port of Turku participates in national studies that measure the operations and corporate image of Finnish ports and the market position of different ports. Corporate image surveys measure the customers' image of the port and recognition among different interest groups. Market mappings are used to investigate potential growth markets to support strategic planning and decision-making.
