Extensive co-operation for the environment

As an active operator the Port of Turku also requires that its subcontractors and partners take the environmental aspects into account. Discussions are conducted with partners continuously in quality, environmental and safety issues. If necessary, individual information and training related to these issues is also provided to partners, especially those operating in the port area.

The Port has functioning regular contacts with the environmental authorities of both the City and state. Regular discussions in advance about the environmental aspects of both land and sea projects ensure the operational and financial success of the projects. Joint meetings are regularly called in by the Port on such topics as follow-up programmes of environmental permits and future plans.
