Current resources have plenty of capacity

The total land area used by the Port of Turku is around 225 hectares. The majority of the Port's operations are located in the Inner Harbour and Pansio. The Inner Harbour comprises the Passenger Harbour, Linnanaukko and West Harbour, as well as the Free Zone Company and the Ovako area. The Pansio harbour area comprises the train ferry harbour and oil harbour, as well as the old shipyard area that has been transferred to the Port.

The focus of the development of areas lies in and around Pansio, but the use of the Inner Harbour will be enhanced, too. Alongside area expansions the Port is actively forwarding the projects related to the logistics companies' need for space. The development work also involves quay arrangements in different parts of the Port. Furthermore, utilisation of IT and telecommunication in logistics and port security is taken into account.
