Free Zone Company and the Ovako area
With an area of more than 25 hectares, the Free Zone Company is located in the immediate vicinity of the quay areas. There are many warehouses for different needs: for instance, the majority of new cars imported to Turku arrive via the Free Zone Company.
Together with the leading logistics businesses the Port has made major investments in increasing both the space capacity and service resources.
The logistics cluster in the Ovako area has grown particularly strongly. The largest operators in the area – Schenker Cargo Oy, Posten Logistik SCM and DHL Exel Supply Chain – offer their customers a total of some 75,000 square metres of ultramodern warehouse and terminal facilities. The efficient and reliable warehousing and distribution services are complemented by diverse logistical value added services ranging from finishing to packing of products.
