M/S Braemar called Turku on 2.6.2010

On Wednesday morning m/s Braemar sailed into Turku in glorious sunshine. Her arrival started the eagerly waited cruise season in Turku. Nearly 900 passengers, coming mainly from Britain, but also as far away as New Zealand, set out on guided excursions to Turku and nearby seaside resort Naantali. Some participated in an excursion by boat into the Turku archipelago. The main highlights included the medieval Turku castle and cathedral, the open-air handicraft museum with over 60 buildings that survived the Great Fire in 1827, and the idyllic marina of Naantali town with a view to the Finnish President’s summer residence on the opposite shore.

At 18.00 Braemar left sunny Turku to continue to Helsinki and onwards to St Petersburg. This was Braemar’s firs call to Turku and we are happy to welcome her back in September!
